What we offer

Accommodation (including)
Comfortably furnished bedrooms with beds, linen, cupboards, etc; 3 well balanced, nutritious meals per day; clothing, toiletries, shoes and underwear.

Counselling and assistance
Our full time social worker counsels all our residents for the duration of their stay with us; legal advice and support at court appearances.

Activities Offered
Spiritual upliftment; work preparedness; AIDS awareness classes and relaxation classes; birth preparation including the provision of a birth partner where required; relaxation.

Schooling
On site, we have a new, fully equipped childcare facility run by a fulltime childcare worker; wherever possible, children are placed in local schools and assistance in this regard provided.

Skills Training Centre
On site, fully equipped skills training centre run by fulltime skills trainer offering beadwork, sewing, decoupage, card making, fabric painting, dreamboards and computer literacy classes.

2nd Stage
A 2nd stage cottage, built on our premises, offering semi-independent living to working residents (opened in November 2005) and able to accommodate 3 families.

I was 14 when my parents sent me to stay for the duration of my pregnancy at SI and they were wanting to keep my pregnancy a secret … I met other expectant mothers aswel as battered woman in hiding ..I would like to share my storey should you require someone who can speak from her own expieriance.Jo Anne
